Inspired by the Forest School ethos, we aim for our sessions to take place throughout most of the year in all weathers, if safe to do so. Wearing appropriate clothing and footwear is important for children (and adults) to enjoy the outdoor sessions.
This guide is a list of recommended clothing however as a parent, you can judge what is best for your child.
| AUTUMN / WINTER | SPRING / SUMMER |
In the colder months, wearing layers is key to keeping warm. – all in one warm/thicker weight waterproof outfit – thermal vest/top – leggings/trousers – long sleeved top – jumper/fleece – warm hat – gloves – wellies with warm socks or other suitable outdoor footwear. | In the warmer months there will be water play in the mud kitchen. – lightweight waterproof coat or all in one (perfect for puddle splashing!) – lightweight long-sleeved top – lightweight trousers/ leggings – wellies or suitable outdoor footwear for water play in the mud kitchen (including adults!) – sun hat – sun cream (applied before the session) |
“There’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing.”
